UX Case Study: PostUp
THE CHALLENGE
How to make it easier for remote workers to find great public places to work from that are quiet and spacious, so that they can have meetings and focus on their work.
MY ROLE
I was the project lead and sole designer in charge of UX design and UI design for this 5-day Design Sprint.
THE SOLUTION
The level of crowdedness affects the level of noise. It is important for the users to know the level of the crowdedness of a place before they reserve a table.
Understand/ Map
User Map:
Interview the experts:
How Might We?
HMW knows a place is spacious and quiet?
HMW prevents users from leaving the map and searching for spaces?
HMW knows that is the best place for meetings and for concentrated work?
HMW knows that is the best table to reserve?
Target
The most important customer in our problem is the remote worker that is looking for a quiet place to work.
The critical moment is when that user decides to select a space/ location that is quiet to work from, or leave the app.

Decide
Storyboard:
The goal of the app is to help user to find the best table during the least busy time.
Pick the date
Pick the time based on the chart
Pick from the list of available tables based on the time selected
Prototype
I started creating high-fidelity versions of the screens.
Test
To validate that my prototype works the way I intended, I conducted a usability test with 5 participants. I had the participants perform the following tasks:
Find a quiet place to work for 1 hour
Select Date, Time and Table
Edit the previous selection
Reserve a table
